The Alcaraz Battery is a set of tests designed to assess the cognitive abilities and executive functions of high-performance golf players. Developed in 2022, it combines on-course tests, computerized cognitive assessments, mental calculation exercises, psychomotor tests, and master classes. This battery has proven its effectiveness when applied to young players who later achieved significant victories in World Amateur Golf Tournaments (WAGR).

Multisport Psychomotricity Test
This type of test is designed to evaluate and enhance psychomotor skills across various sports disciplines. It typically assesses coordination, balance, spatial awareness, reaction time, and motor planning, providing a comprehensive view of an individual’s physical and cognitive interaction in different sports scenarios.
Golf Psychomotricity Test
It evaluates the specific psychomotor skills essential for golf performance. It focuses on assessing and developing abilities such as coordination, balance, reaction time, spacial awareness and fine motor skills. This test helps identify areas for improvement and tailor training programs for golfers aiming to optimize their performance.
On-Course Games Test
The on-course games consist of 6 different 9-hole games in which we will analyze various aspects of golfers’ cognitive abilities, such as reasoning, monitoring, and attention, among others.
Calculation Test
We will test 6 different levels of the calculation abilities.
Cognitive evaluation software Test
We will assess cognitive abilities and executive functions using specialized software, interpret its results, and compare them with the data obtained from the other tests of the battery.
Cognitive Growth Core Goals Test
We will analyze the Cognitive Growth Core Goals.
Master classes
Master Classes refer to specialized, high-level lessons or sessions, typically taught by experts or highly experienced professionals in a specific field. They are designed to provide deep insights, advanced techniques, and comprehensive knowledge to participants, often through a combination of theoretical explanations and practical application. They will focus on the following areas:
Complex Systems Theory in Golf: Explaining how to apply systems theory to the game of golf, helping players understand the interconnectedness of different aspects of their performance and game strategy.
Rational Thinking: Developing logical reasoning and critical thinking skills for decision-making in golf.
Risk Analysis: Teaching participants how to evaluate and manage risks in competitive environments.
Decision-Making Process: Providing tools and frameworks for improving decision-making, particularly in high-pressure situations.
Statistics in Decision Making: Helping participants understand how to gather, interpret, and apply statistical data to inform decisions.
Once the analysis is completed, we will issue a report with a work plan, conduct follow-ups, and provide the necessary training to coaches so they can integrate this work into their regular routines and oversee the implementation of the new exercises.
